Dr. Jerry Nash, 6 January 2012 Shame on you Award winner

(Quote from the WSMV Website) "No you can't do what you want. This is appropriate punishment, and I stand behind it. We have to have order," said Nash. (End Quote)

Doctor, Nash, apparently you have not read the Constitution of the United States and the Freedom of Speech. People can say what they want, the only exception is where human life would be in danger and there are not but a few situations like that, (Yelling fire in a theatre is one, Threatening the life of a President is another) saying two words does not even come close Jerry.

What these kids at this school did was shoot a video and here is the reason for the video :

(Quoted from the WSMV website): Students said they made the video in retaliation. The principal recently extended lunch break to an hour and allowed students to socialize or get academic help during that time, but every time a teacher caught someone cursing, they took a minute away. (End Quote)

The whole principal here runs foul of Free Speech Rights. And Cursing... What might upset one person, would not even make another take notice.

3 Day In Suspension for the students who exercised their Free Speech Rights, and Alternative School for the person who shot the film, while exercising their free speech rights. I agree with the Parents, this is very unfair punishment and I would hope that a Federal Investigation results from the Parents protest.

Dr. Jerry Nash, Superintendent, winner of 6 January 2012 Shame on you Award.
